Deacons are the servants of the Church. Each deacon shall serve under the general oversight of the Pastor of the Church and shall relate functionally to the Pastor assisting him in every area of responsibility. The primary work of the Pastor shall be to devote himself to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
A Deacon's responsibilities shall include the following:
To assist the Pastor so that he can be released to devote time for "prayer and the service of the Word." (Acts 6:2-4)
To be "in charge of" (administer) any particular task assigned by the Pastor. (Acts 6:3)
To be an example of servant-hood to the Church body. (Acts 6:2-4; Matthew 23:11; I Timothy 3:13)
To show care and concern for the families of the Church.
